KPS Insurance Services, Inc. was formed in April of 2006 with the vision of becoming the leading surety bond agency in the eyes for our clients, surety companies, and professional relationships. 

Michael R. Strahan, founder and President of KPS Insurance Services, Inc.has over 15 years of experience in the surety industry. Michael started his career in 1994 with Reliance Surety Company where he worked until October of 2000.  While with Reliance Surety Company, he was responsible for underwriting and managing relationships with construction firms that ranged in size from a couple million dollars to over several hundred million dollars in revenue. 

For six years prior to starting KPS, Michael worked for a regional, full service insurance agency located in San Diego, California.  While working for this agency he was responsible for securing new business while managing existing client relationships.  In addition to client relationships Michael was responsible for establishing and growing relationships with other professional firms such as CPA’s, bankers, attorney’s, consultants, software providers, and surety companies. 

In April of 2006 it was time to start up an agency that focused exclusively on the surety bond aspect of the construction industry.  By focusing exclusively on the surety bond market KPS Insurance Services, Inc. can work with clients that expect and demand a high level of service from their professional advisors.

In 2008 Eleanor Bautista Strahan joined KPS as both a Partner and Office Manager.  Eleanor has strong administrative and technical skills that allow her to manage the day to day needs of the business as well as more complex tasks that she routinely undertakes. 

In mid 2008 Rocky Qualin joined the KPS family.  Rocky came from a commercial banking background and brings a unique blend of construction lending expertise and financial analysis abilities to the table.  Combined Rocky has over 13 years of surety and banking expertise. 

In late 2009 Margie Wager joined KPS.  Margie began in the surety business in 1977 and brings a wealth of knoweldge and expertise to the equation.  Prior to joining KPS she was running the bond department for a regional brokerage firm located in San Diego Calfornia.
